Sunovion – Nurse Practitioner/Physicians Assistant Training
Sunovian Boosts Sales Effectiveness by Exploring Unique Roles of NP’s & PA’s
Our training programs can help to boost sales and improve employee retention by ensuring your team feels well-prepared and supported, leading to greater job satisfaction and engagement.
The Challenge
Sunovion’s CNS Therapeutic Specialists play a vital role in driving product sales by fostering value-added relationships with customers and offering consultative solutions and services. As the number of physicians’ assistants (PAs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) in their customer base increased, Sunovion recognized the need to train their specialists on the unique perspectives of these roles to maximize their effectiveness.
Our Solution
To address this need, we developed an interactive online course designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of both PAs and NPs. The course included:
Role Comparison: Detailed profiles highlighting the similarities and differences between NPs and PAs, including their patient and disease focus.
Educational Backgrounds: Key components of their education, training, certifications, and regulation.
Prescribing Behaviors: An in-depth look at the prescribing habits of each role.
Perceptions of Sales Reps: Insights into how NPs and PAs view pharmaceutical sales representatives and how this influences their prescribing choices.
Roles and Responsibilities: The key duties of each role and the environments in which they practice.
The course was designed to be highly interactive, with clear, simple presentation in a menu-driven format, allowing sales representatives to access the information as needed during sales calls. Additionally, state-by-state differences in certifications and regulations were included for representatives covering multiple areas.

The Results
The training provided Sunovion’s sales team with essential insights into the practice and prescribing behaviors of NPs and PAs. This knowledge has empowered them to make more effective sales calls and build stronger relationships with these healthcare providers. By clearly presenting the information and making it easily accessible, the course ensures that representatives are well-prepared to engage with NPs and PAs, ultimately leading to a more successful sales outcome.
